Meet Scott Luco:
EFI Group’s new Senior Project Engineer

Articles, News and Resources

With more than twenty-five years of experience in inorganic and electrolytic chemical production, food additives, pharmaceutical excipients and wastewater treatment processes, Scott Luco brings exceptional expertise to EFI Group.

However, his extensive process and operational leadership background is only one reason he’s such a good fit for our team.

Scott’s ability to see and assess the big picture, combined with his penchant for asking probing and challenging questions, are naturally aligned with EFI Group’s philosophy of approaching projects from an owner’s point of view and stimulating fresh thinking.

Underlying Scott’s talent for problem solving is his deep hatred of the one thing: Waste.

According to Scott, “There’s nothing I love more than making processes sing. In fact, what drives me is taking something that had a lot of waste, was too slow and off spec, and making it run very tight and very fast so that it builds the bottom line rather than drains it.”

Prior to joining EFI Group, Scott spent 10 years at W.R. Grace & Co., where he most recently held the position of Quality and Materials Operations Manager. Before that, Scott worked at several other respected companies including Erachem-Comilog, Inc., Westinghouse Electronic Systems and Merck & Co., Inc.

Scott is the recipient of numerous awards for both his work and published papers, and is trained in Design for Six Sigma Manufacturability, Taguchi Methods and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Scott lives in Catonsville, MD and has been married to his wife Ann for 29 years. Together, they have five grown children and currently spend much of their time working as marriage preparation counselors, giving engaged couples the tools they need to stay married. As Scott puts it, “We teach them how to fight without actually fighting.”

In short, Scott is a big believer in giving back to the community and also volunteers for organizations such as the Knights of Columbus and the Catonsville Historical Society.

In the little spare time he has left, Scott enjoys landscaping, working in his gardens and fishing. But there may be one activity that beats them all, and that’s following the Orioles. To get to know Scott better, connect with him on LinkedIn.
